Nature's Multi-Mineral
Soil Amendment
Not all soil amendments are created equal. Spanish River Carbonatite (SRC) is a naturally occurring agromineral formed over billions of years and carefully quarried in Northern Ontario.
A Different Way of Thinking About Soil.
SRC Agrominerals was founded on a simple belief: healthier soils are the foundation of healthier crops, healthier ecosystems, and more sustainable agriculture.
Since the mid-1990s, our focus has been on understanding how naturally occurring agrominerals can restore soil function beyond conventional fertility programs. While many soil inputs replace nutrients temporarily, our research has always explored how mineral diversity can improve the biological and physical processes that allow soil to function as a living ecosystem.
Unlike products that focus on solving a single soil challenge, SRC naturally delivers a broad spectrum of essential minerals that support healthier soils, stronger plants, and more resilient growing systems.
Developed through decades of scientific research, independent trials, and real-world agricultural applications, SRC works with soil biology—not against it—to improve the conditions that crops need to thrive.
Whether used in commercial agriculture, composting, potting mixes, landscaping, or home gardens, SRC helps build healthier soils that continue to perform season after season.
Formed 1.85 billion years ago.
Every bag of SRC originates from the Spanish River Carbonatite deposit located on the outer perimeter of the Sudbury Basin in Northern Ontario.
This deposit was formed approximately 1.85 billion years ago following the Sudbury Event—one of Earth's most significant geological events. The impact created an extraordinary magmatic system that produced a rare carbonatite deposit unlike conventional limestone deposits.
Because these minerals formed together naturally, they work together to support healthier soil systems rather than delivering only a single nutrient source.
The Team Behind SRC
The people behind the science, the research, and every bag of SRC.
Why Spanish River Carbonatite?
Healthy soils require more than individual nutrients. They depend on a balanced interaction between minerals, microorganisms, water, organic matter, and plant roots. Spanish River Carbonatite was developed around this understanding.
Unlike conventional soil amendments designed to address one specific deficiency, SRC naturally provides a broad mineral profile that supports multiple soil processes simultaneously.
Because SRC contains naturally occurring calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, silica, trace minerals, and high-activity clay minerals within one material, it helps create healthier growing conditions that continue working long after application. Instead of simply feeding the plant, SRC supports the living system beneath it.
Healthy Soil. Healthy Plants. Healthy Ecosystems.
Everything begins below the surface. Healthy plants are the result of healthy soils, and healthy soils are living ecosystems where minerals, microbes, water, and roots continuously work together. That philosophy guides everything we do.
We believe agriculture should focus not only on supplying nutrients but also on restoring the biological and mineral balance that allows soil to function naturally. This is why our research continues to explore how naturally occurring agrominerals can help rebuild soil health while supporting productive agriculture.
Because when soil functions as nature intended, everything above it has a stronger foundation to grow.
